DOMESTIC produce is set to be promoted across Spain thanks to new laws on product labelling.
The new requirements set out in a draft bill aim to highlight the country of origin of products including liquid milk, powders, yogurts and butter.
The guidelines, which will be trialled for two years, mimic similar rules launched in France and Italy.
Their purpose is to promote domestic produce, so foreign companies could lose out.
To be eligible for a ‘made in Spain’ label, companies must provide details of the origin of milk or other product used.
