Puerta del Carmen

IT is great to find an unfussy and atmospheric place to eat in the heart of Granada. Right slap bang next to the town hall, it is bustling most of the day with functionaries and politicians huddled up in meetings and with their secretaries, wives and lovers often in tow.

In a grand old townhouse, stone built with plenty of its original touches, it has a real Parisian wine bar feel to it... and to be fair it is probably best described as a wine bar, with food.
